Fast Week

This week is sure going by fast. It's been stressful too for various reasons and I'm trying to work through it. Yesterday was my night off, but I stayed home and practiced. I took a break to watch the tv show "Rock Star", but afterwards I got back to singing. When I see other people working hard and doing the same things I'm doing and going through similiar situations it's very inspiring. Of course they're at a higher level at this point than I am because they are on tv and the public sees everything. It is a lot of pressure. I love to listen to their advice though. Today I'm feeling pretty good. I'll be singing all day long in preparation for tonight. My band is gonna be rehearsing, but without me. I'll be going in after to continue tracking. Gotta get going so everyone have a great day. xoxo

If It Was Easy Everyone Would Do It

It's one of those dreary days that makes you want to cuddle in a blanket all day and watch old movies. Not me tho cuz I have plenty I have to work on today. I have to practice my vocals for one of my songs that I'll be tracking tonight. Plus I also have a voice lesson this afternoon. I know I probably sound like a broken record, but my routine is pretty much the same everyday when I'm in the recording mode. Once I finish a song it's onto the next. I'm sure some of you wonder why doing a record takes so long, but thats because it's not as simple as going in and just singing the right pitches. There is so much more to think about. You have to make the song sound believeable and a song only comes to life when you put your heart & soul into it. However that's on top of thinking about all the technical parts of the song. The part that the singer is suppose to make look easy. But hey, if it were easy everyone would do it! It always feels good when I finish a song though. It feels like a huge accomplishment, but I'm also thinking about the next one. That's pretty much my day. xoxo

Enthusiastic

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!! I had a nice day off yesterday. I watched baseball on tv and then went out to dinner with my mom. We laughed a lot and while I enjoyed my water & lemon, mom enjoyed her margarita's! haha  We stopped at Wallys World to buy the movie, The Benchwarmers, which is extremely funny. When you put Rob Schneider, Jon Heder, David Spade and Jon Lovitz together you're bound to be laughing. It's about baseball...of course! Accept they are really nerdy and really bad. haha So then after that I could barely keep my eyes open so I got to bed earlier than I have the past few nights. This morning I woke up with a stiff neck cuz I slept on it all wrong. Probably cause I was having some strange dreams. Today I'll be working on piano, but focusing on believability/timing/pitch for my song, "Breakable", that I'll be tracking tonight in the studio. I can't wait for my younger brother to be back in school actually so I don't have the conflict for quiet in the house so I can work on my music. Alrighty...gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now! haha xoxo

YOLKing It Up!!!

Another late night for me...or was it early morning? haha I'm not sure but two nights in a row I've hit the sheets around 5 am. It was totally worth it though cuz I had a great night. Went into the studio and finished lead vocals on another song. Then bass guitar was tracked and then acoustic for a different song. Gotta keep the momentum of recording flowing so the album doesn't take till next year. haha Things were hopping with people coming and going at the studio too and although I'm not surprised, things always get done, just as the Godfather commands it! Before midnight my manager, my producer, my acoustic guitar player and I went to the Magic City Music Hall in Johnson City to see the band "Yolk"! It was a reunion for them since they haven't played together in about 10 years. They rocked it as if they never stopped playing together for all those years and I loved the show!! I think they started around 12:30am and it went until 3am. Jimmy John, the lead singer, I know well since he does a lot of work at the studio and I've recorded a couple songs he co-wrote. He is an amazing performer and singer and I need to get some tips from him on how to scream without killing the vocal cords! haha  He could totally be like "PINK's" brother cuz his personality is so badass! The bass guitar player in the band designed my EP cover (Killer too, right?) so it was cool too meet him for the first time. What can I say...I love my life! Today is up for grabs with doing whatever but I'm sure I will be checking into my music sites for updates and other stuff like that throughout the day! No sunshine either so I have to make my own! :)

My Decisions

I'm a lil out it right now cuz I worked in the studio from 9 - 3 am and after getting home I couldn't get to sleep until like 5 am. Now its past noon and I'm trying to wake up. haha oh boy. It was a full night of singing with a touch of debate with the guys about the fate of planet Pluto. My fave planet and now it's been demoted. Sad. Tonite I have to juggle a few different things that concern me and it's gonna come down to priorities. It's unfortunate that I can't do it all and hopefully people I care about and who care about me will understand My Decicions. No doubt tho it's gonna be another long night that starts even earlier than last night. Resting my voice yesterday during the day paid off in the studio last night and and most likely I will do it up the same for today. In the meantime my piano skills are improving so it's all good! For now I need to hit up the shower and splash my face to fully wake up and get some eats. Hope your Saturday rocks out!!!! xoxo

Hi Everyone!!! What's up? Basically last night was a busy one at the studio. When I got there my band was rehearsing and then I jumped in and joined them. It's kinda cool how we all rehearse in a small room and the band kind of stands in a circle and I stand in the middle of them. It's gets ridiculously loud and extremely hot in there after a few songs, but it's fun. My bass player asked me if he could leave early and I'm like...duh I can't play bass. (not yet anyway) lol  After that I got to sit down and practice my acoustic set with my guitar player Donny. To me acoustic practice is one of the most relaxing things because I really get to focus on my vocals. Then after that I did some more tracking for my full length. I sure did a lot of singing yesterday that's for sure. Today I'm gonna rest the voice a little and drink some hot tea and honey so I'll just quietly review so I'm all good for tonight. The plan is a long night of tracking. I know I have to be patient but I'm so excited and can't wait for everyone to hear my new material. It's dreary and cooler today and the forecast is calling for big storms. hmmm we'll see. Alrighty, have a nice day! xoxo

Inspiration from Rock Star

I spent a nice relaxing day yesterday and recharged my batteries once again. I hung out with my mom, did a bit of shopping, had an early bird dinner together and later on in the evening went to the movies to see "World Trade Center". Awesome movie by the way. I was home early enough to stay up and watch my saved recording of Rock Star on TV and then take a peek on the internet for a behind the scenes look at stuff. I absorb it like a sponge and a couple things stood out for me in particular. The house band leader Paul Mirkovich said, "your body is your instrument and if your body's not working right, then your instrument isn't working right." It was in regard to one of the contestants having the flu but the statement covers a multitude of sins really. Especially if you aren't getting enough rest or abusing your body. Then Patrice's leaving remarks after being told bye, bye, bye...went something like... Jason, Gilby and Tommy told her to never take any moment for granted, when doing a show or writing a song and never get into a place where you become lazy or uninspired. If you're not feeling inspired then notice that and get there.  Like Patrice and everyone else that wants to shine where they are...I too want to be inspired every moment that I can! Today I'm on the keyboards and vocals just bringing it the way I do. :) Reach for the stars people if that's where you truly want to be and remember to work your A$$ off! haha xoxo

Chill Bomb

Sometimes I am like a trained lab rat and I forgot how to be spontanious. Even tho my routine varies everyday and I can change it up my way, I'm always very focused and centered on my music and what needs to be done. I was thinking about what I might like to do with my night off tonite and I find myself saying "now what?" The odd thing too is...my friends all get mad when I'm busy all the time and then I drop the "lets chill" bomb and they can't! Go figure. It's cool tho cuz I'm never bored. I had an excellent night in the studio last night. Yup...as it should be. I've seriously gotten to that point of not wanting to waste time when I'm there but we do have our giggles! Anyways, I'm looking forward to great things and I hope you are too! heehee  xoxo

The Sound of Tools

I woke up to the sound of repair men in my bathroom fixing the broken pipes that have kept me from using my tub/shower for the past couple months. Now please don't think I haven't showered in all that time...haha...cuz it's my parents house and we have another bathroom. Okay glad we cleared that up! I'll just be working on my music downstairs instead for the next few days. It lacks privacy but it's manageable. I did tracking in the studio last night plus piano and I'll be doing the same tonite. Which basically means I'll be working on vocals and piano here at home all day. My favorite aunt (Bonnie), grandma and mom hit me up this morning asking me to sing the newest "Dena" stuff....so I sang the harmonies to my acoustic versions to several of my songs over at my grandmas. Since she just lives across the street from me I treked over with no makeup on and barefoot! haha They absolutely loved their personal concert and I loved that they loved it! The repair men will be getting a concert soon from me on the piano soon as I'm done entering this. haha lucky them! haha That's how it is when you live in a small house. I hope someday to have my own recording studio in my house....well, it's a goal I have anyway. I want to do it all one day just like an actor who wants to direct too. It just gives you a better understanding of how things are done and then you actually have control over it. haha Like the kid said in the movie, Angels In the Outfield, "Hey, it could happen!" He was a dreamer just like me! hehe

Monday Chit Chat

The sun is shining and there's a mild breeze blowing. I wish it was a tropical breeze and I was on a sunny beach somewhere (Hawaii works for me...heehee) but where I live...it's pretty nice & will have to do. I was laying in bed listening to Riley and Kirsten on Wild104 FM and giggling at the comments Riley was making about the Teen Choice Awards from last night. Well....honestly we shared the same opinion on certain performances/appearances and hearing him speak his mind on the radio just cracked me up! Some of my favorite moments of the night were Jessica Alba's cool thank you speak about her "image" after winning the female HOTTIE award, the "courage award" for Jason was emotional and the "whoa baby!!" award from me goes to the yummy Johnny Depp! haha The hype over Kfed was basically all hype. It was a fun show to watch and fast paced. Unlike watching baseball that is slow and intense! Speaking of which I stayed up to watch the NY Yankees kick *Red Sox butt and did the happy dance at 1:30 in the morning!!! Kudo's to my man Derek Jeter for doing his thing once again by tieing it up in the 9th with a base hit and then Giambi & Posada homered in the 10th!!! Woo Hoo!!! Let me make it clear, *I don't hate any other teams cuz I'm cool like that but I do cheer on my fave! I already took a ride to the mall with my grandma this morning cuz she needed help with something and my mom couldn't go so it was Dena to the rescue AND she bought me breakfast! heehee Well enough of my ramblings.....I have to get back to my music. Hope the start of your week is awesome!!! xoxo

Relaxing Day

I slept in a little today so I think I'm caught up on rest now. I got home around 1am but didn't get to sleep till about 3am since I was up talking with my mom about things. It was kind of relaxing for me at the studio last night since Donny was tracking guitars for my record. Sounded really good and I enjoy watching how things come together. That's why putting together one song takes so long. It's not just me going in and singing it and blamo its done. There's so many steps and parts that have to be put together and that's what a lot of people don't realize. I know I didn't before I started working in a recording studio. I heard the new drum tracks on 5 of my new songs and they all sound killer. I can't wait to track vocals on them all. After that I hit up keyboards to work on "Deep Water". It's very close to being complete. Just have to tighten everything up and soon I'll be able to perform it live. Next I'll be learning "Dream of Angels" on the piano which is one of my favorite songs I've recorded and have never had the chance to perform yet. Today my plan is to take it easy even tho I still have to do some cleaning and things. Then later tonight the Teen Choice Awards are on so I'm looking forward to watching that! My brother Jay heads back to grad school once again but it was great having him home for a few days! Ok cool. xoxo

GREAT NIGHT!!!!

Hey Everyone!!! Great gig at Lockheed Martin last night! Woo Hoo!!! It was a very appreciative audience for sure and I definitely loved the atmosphere! There was so much for the crowd to do with 2 stages going, rides for the kids, food tents, etc and yet I had an amazing crowd for my set. The first 100 fans in line were the lucky few to get a free cd and autographed postcard! The people were extremely nice and I would like to thank them all for their encouraging words. I especially adore the lil ones that act so shy and yet want a hug and a picture with me. I remember when I was little and would be the same way. It's a great feeling! About 9:30 was the fireworks display and I have to say it had some of the best fireworks I have ever seen! Thanks Lockheed Martin for everything! I was totally happy, hungry (I can't eat before I perform..haha) and exhausted by nights end!!! But mostly happy!!! :)

Always, Always, Always Love and Music!!! ~Dena~

P.S. Happy 34th Anniversary Mom & Dad!!!! I love you!

Private Gig Tonite :)

Today will be a combination of work and fun for me! I have a show tonite for a huge private event that is for all the Lockheed Martin workers and their families! I think it's cool that I was offered the opportunity to be a part of it. Thanks to the people that requested me and for the event coordinator for setting it all up! It's really tight security I heard too. I have a sound check this afternoon first and before that I have much to get ready. I haven't even decided what to wear at this point...haha...but thats typical of all woman to try on a few dozen things before she settles! I know after last nights rehearsal my band is ready too but they don't have to think much about clothes and hair! haha The weather is gorgeous today and just perfect for an outdoor event. I'm rested up and excited for tonite's gig!!! My older bro came into town just to see me perform tonite and it means alot to me since he is like the only one in my family who hasn't had that chance till now!!! So everyone be sweet and enjoy your day!!!! I know I will. xoxo

Email Issues

I'm experiencing email problems today. Talk about annoying and frustrating. So I want to apologise if you aren't hearing back from me in a timely manner. I either did not get your email to begin with or if I did and I answered you I have no idea if you will even get it. It's madness and I just want it to work! ahhhhh I can't seem to get satisfaction from any server I've dealt with without problems and I've changed my contact address 3 times this year. I don't know what's up with that but grrrrr!! Everything else is great tho! Band practice last night was up to speed (good job guys) and we'll be kicking it again tonight. I'm looking forward to tomorrow nights gig at Lockheed Martin's Family Appreciation Day! It should be relaxed and fun for everyone attending and for myself. :) I want to watch my fave tv shows from last night that I taped...."ROCK STAR" and the finale' of "So You Think You Can Dance". Gotta get going if I want to watch both shows (minus the commericals - yay!!!) and get my work done! So everyone be good and have a fun Thursday! xoxo

Risking Change

"That's the risk you take if you change: that people you've been involved with won't like the new you. But other people who do will come along."  - Lisa Alther

I'm finding out once again that some of my friends are unhappy with me. All the "oh Dena, I'll always be there for you and I care about you and whatever you need I'm so there!" At the time I'm sure it was expressed in good faith but because I'm always so busy and I have goals they are quick to say I think I'm too good for them. I love all my friends dearly but truly if they were my friend they wouldn't say that. Even when I take a minute to talk to you or write you it's just never good enough. But know that it's your decision to let go of me, not the other way around. This Bill Cosby quote says it nicely: "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I'm preparing for my show on Friday so I'm putting in extra time practicing. Multi-tasking is the name of my game. Trying to watch Rock Star on tape while eating and checking emails or texting my friends. It's what I do!

Pancakes On The Brain

I can honestly say I start my day wakin' up to Riley and Kirsten and this morning I found myself at the Wild 104 studio bearing gifts to this special duo! Seeing Riley for a brief minute made my day and it was only 9:30 am. I'm such a dork crushing on him. haha Gosh darnit, he is a newlywed too!! Well I'm sure there is "Someone" in my future like him. My mom and I had errands like getting some disc labels made up for my acoustic set I'll be putting in my press kit. Last night was all about happiness in the studio once again. I finished tracking all the vocals for my song "Watching". Each song I finish I am so excited at how great it turns out! It's gonna be hard to pick a favorite off my full length for sure! I'm really hungry right now since I didn't have breakfast yet and dang, it's lunch time already! My brain keeps saying pancakes, pancakes, pancakes even though I just had them the other day. I can't help it though they are so addicting. So breakfast for lunch sounds like a plan and then music time!!! I have a voice lesson too today so I look forward to that! Be good everyone! :) xoxo

Family Day

Sunday is family day in my house! well...at least thats the goal. After eating those delicious pancakes my mom made yesterday, my mom, brother and I kicked back and watched the movie, "The Producers", with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick! We laughed sooo hard that now I wish I had seen the Broadway play with them in it! Their facial expressions alone are enough to take me over the edge of hilarity! Then last night my mom and I attended an outdoor play (under a tent) for EPAC's Shakespeare In The Park Production and all my fellow actors were in it! They kicked royal butt for sure and I was so happy to see them all once again! It was their last show and that meant tearing the set down and a cast party and although they invited me to hang out I felt like I didn't belong. I went my separate way a year ago when I exclusively chose to devote all my time to my singing career instead of acting and they understand that too. Today I'm back in my music zone and feeling so secure with the decisions I've made for myself. I'm one happy girl!!!! xoxo

Stellar Night!!!

I was in the studio for hours last night tracking and it was one of my stellar nights!! You could say everyone and everything was right on target! I got home about 1 am and even though I was exhausted my mom, my brother and his friend were all awake and we spent about one and a half hours in the kitchen eating ice cream, telling stories and laughing hysterically. The kind of laughs that make your tummy hurt!! haha I slept in a little bit longer today and woke up to my mom making pancakes! Yay for me!! Later on tonight I'm gonna see the play "Twelveth Night" put on by our local theater company. Last year I did "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" and I played Juliet. I loved that part so much and I so would have done another Shakespeare play this summer but afterall the trade off is what I am doing now and it's all I wanna do! :) I never thought a year ago that right now I'd have an EP out, or be playing the biggest venue in my area or in the process of working on a full length album. Dreamed of yes...but I didn't know it was going to all happen in one year. So that makes me wonder, where will I be in a year from today?!? If all my days went perfectly like yesterday it would be incredible. Hope everyone has a great day and keep dreaming!

May today there be peace within. May you trust God
that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May
you not forget the infinite possibilities that are
born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have
received, and pass on the love that has been given to
you. May you be content knowing you are a child of
God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and
allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and
love. It is there for each and every one of us.

Nothing but Love & Music coming your way!!! ~Dena~

Wow it's Saturday once again...where has the week gone too?? After last nights meeting and going over some necessary changes needed to keep things fresh on my music sites I have more to think about and to work on. It's never ending really. I think that a lot of people may think that all I do is rehearse and record but that's only a small piece of it. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that no one sees and without my crew of people helping me and doing all that they do for me it would be almost impossible for sure. I love what I'm doing though and the fans that have expressed their love for my music makes it all worth it. I'll be tucked away inside my room all day workin on vocals and piano for the afternoon with short breaks inbetween to sit at the computer and maybe have a snack. haha  Studio later tonite. xoxo

It's Not Easy Being Green

I'm smarter then most people think or even give me credit for sometimes. I'm not all about fun and games either even when I'm consistantly giggling. hehe I like to see both sides of things, hear the debate and then make my own decisions. Yeah, I've been described as naive, innocent, vulernable and "green" to put it in a nutshell....but that's partly because I'm young. My goal is to become more savy business wise and follow my gut more. Thankfully I have a great support system in place and it wouldn't be any other way cuz God is the highest power of all in my life. I follow rules really well but I do have my own mind and I know this musical journey I'm on is gonna be like a roller coaster ride but I have all the faith I need to keep me from crashing. Gosh that sounds serious! haha On the lighter side I have to say band practice went great last night. Tracking went smoothly and overall it was an upbeat night. I got home at a reasonable hour too so I caught up on my zzzzz's! Keep your feet firmly planted but have a fun friday everyone!!!!

Keys

I went to bed way earlier than I normally do last night and I can't even remember 2 seconds after laying my head down haha  I've been clicking away on a couple different keyboards this morning....the piano keys and the computer keys. haha  Now I should be energized to get lots done today without needing an extra boost from my favorite drink...Red Bull. ;) I have practice tonight with band #2 and then after that I'll probably be doing more tracking. My first show with them is next week so we have to make sure things are tight. Even tho the Spiedie Fest was a cool gig...it was bittersweet b/c I only sang 5 songs and it was over so fast. I would have loved doing a longer set cuz I have some awesome songs for you to hear that are gonna be on my full length. Anyways...I've been thinking about another kind of key today...the key to my heart. Basically that key goes to my boyfriend...and you should all know that MUSIC IS MY BOYFRIEND! hehe Gotcha!!!! :) xoxo

Day Off

How is everyone doing today?!!! It's my day off but I'll still be working on piano and my music. I don't have to go into the studio tonite tho. Kicking back today is part of my plan but I also have to get back into managing my music sites better also before people think I disappeared. This morning I've been catching up on some MTV viewing. I don't really watch a whole lot of tv anymore, but I think its a good idea to check in once in awhile to see what's new and who is doing what. When I was little all I did was watch TRL and even when I wasn't home my mom would tape it for me cause I was so obsessed haha I adored Carson Daly back when he was the host! ;) Tonite I will be watching 2 of my favorite shows..."Rock Star" & "So You Think You Can Dance"! The more I watch "Rock Star" the more respect I have for those guys in Supernova. They are so talented, extremely smart and cool. The talent on "So You Think You Can Dance" is in a pretty tight race and it's gonna be sooo hard to chose a winner! I do vote for my favorites on both shows but I'm not saying who! hehe Alrighty, hope you have a awesome day! xoxo

What it is!!!

I have to say I'm really quite happy! With everything that happened last week and what's up ahead I couldnt feel much better I dont think. Of course not everything was perfect, but I'm taking that and using it for fuel. When I watch videos of myself or see pictures I know what I like or don't like and I know what I need to change and improve on. I can be my own worst enemy at times. However despite all that, I'm looking forward to the future. After this weekend I am 110% positive that this is what I want to do with my life. I can't explain it, but being on stage, hanging backstage with all the chaos that goes on, signing autographs, taking pictures with fans, meeting new people all the time, it's heaven to me. I can't see myself doing anything else. I've been working hard on the piano this morning and I'm having fun doing it. In the near future you will be seeing me playing a few songs during my show on piano. Who knew I would be doing that?! This evening I have a voice lesson to get to, which I haven't had in a couple of weeks because of my extra busy schedule. Tonight at the studio I'll be tracking my new song called Watching off the full length. If anyone feels like writing to me with comments or questions please do...my email is dena@denamusic.com. I would love to hear from you! :)

Do what you love! :)  ~Dena~

WOW!!! AMAZING!!! (Pics)

Unbelieveable moment in time for me to perform at my hometowns biggest event of the year! It was amazing!!! Although the big deals messed with my time slot and put me on earlier then scheduled and my family, friends and fans nearly missed my performance and some missed it completely, it really doesn't matter b/c what goes around comes around and I love the fact that my backup band & I rocked it!!! BIG UPS to Wild 104 Summer Jam with how professional there are and just totally cool people!!!! Riley interviewed me live after my performance and even he felt bad that the station had been telling everyone I was going on at 1:45 and I was done by then. I spent all day with the VIPS and met the AMERICAN IDOLS!!! oh yeah....Constantine invited me to have dinner with him and his band and well....hell yeah! I wasn't passing on that! haha What nice, nice, nice guys!!! I'm gonna post a few pics and unfortunately I didn't get a good one with Kevin Covais. I met him and his mom and he really is a sweetie! It appears the Idols love what they do and it's great to actually hear them sing live. Thanks to Brothers II for the special dinner prepared for the American Idols that I got to eat too!! plus all the vendors that gave me free stuff! AND YES I DID GET MY FUNNEL CAKE!!! hehe Overall I think the Spiedie Fest was great and by the end of the day my feet were tired, my head was spinning from the adrenaline and I am just gonna savor the moment! I love you all and thanks so much for being so kind and giving! I couldn't do this without you! xoxo

Spiedie Fest Time!!!

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!!! Wish me luck! haha Actually I want to thank everyone for their well wishes!! I appreciate all the local support too. It's a given I will be having a good time and I hope everyone else enjoys themselves too! I can't wait to meet the American Idols! oh yeah and after all is said and done....I will be getting a funnel cake after the show!!!! haha I have no appetite right now but I know I need to put something in my tummy so I don't get the shakes. We are caravaning it into the park today with all my crew so that's fun! No matter what the outcome...I will always be able to say...I played the biggest venue in my hometown and I had a blast!!! I have to hurry my BUTT-erflies up to get going now! Hope your day is great!!! xoxo

My Back-up Band ;-)

"See Dena and her back-up band!" hahaha It's totally correct but hardly fair to the guys that make up my back-up band to not mention just how awesome they really are! They are amazing, talented and hard working. Like I said once before, I work with them but don't hang out with them and I'll go as far as to say I don't even know their last names. But Joe, Lance, Landon and Dave have become guys I can count on to help make me shine and they need to know how much I appreciate that! Last night was one of the best band practices ever and I did my part to kick it into high gear! I couldn't be happier after this crazy week! The crazier the better I think cuz it makes me feel alive and boredom isn't an option. I hope you caught my FOX 40 interview last night but if you missed it or are living out of my hometown area then you can see it if you just click on the link. hehe I feel so light that I'm practically flying. Another band practice tonite to tighten any loose ends so it's all good to go for my performance at the Spiedie Fest/Balloon Rally Expo tomorrow at 1:45! Wish me luck! Have a great day! xoxo to everyone!

Wild 104 & Fox 40

WOW!!!! What a great start to my day today! Up at the crack of dawn to warm up my voice and get to Wild 104 FM for my live on air interview with Riley & Kirsten in the morning! They are as great in person as they come across on the radio too! It was my first experience in a radio station and I felt very comfortable! The interview process was pretty sweet and I sang my song "Someone" live at like 7:30 AM. It's so cool to be in on the whole live radio aspect and Riley & Kirsten are total pro!!! Thanks Wild 104 for having me and treating me so well! :) I have work to do before band practice tonite and I have a feeling I might be sneaking in a power nap before that. Another big thing happening tonite.....is my interview on FOX 40 at 10 PM!!! Be sure to watch that cuz there will be footage of me singing in the studio where I record! Actually I will have to tape myself to see it later cuz I will be at band practice. Thanks everyone for all your love and support! And congrats to the winners  that called in at Wild 104 to win my gift bags!!! :)  xoxo

Good Vibrations!!!

Usually I have Wednesday nights off from going into the studio but last night I did an interview with FOX 40 TV at the mansion! It went really great too!!! It will air Friday night the 4th at 10 pm!!!! So be sure to tune in! Shout out to Austin, FOX 40's camera guy!!! haha After the dust settled and all the VIP's left then my producer and I got down to business as usual and worked. I'm feeling pretty confident right now and for some reason I'm handling all the buzz like it was meant to be. I just do what I do and I love it so maybe thats why. I have band practice tonite and then soon as I wind down it's straight to bed, I have a live radio interview at 7 am at Wild 104 with Riley and Kirsten I have to be up early! I sure hope you tune in so set your alarms people and WAKE UP!!! hahahaha You can read about me on PressConnects.com  or if you get the Press & Sun Bulletin then check out the Good Times!!! You just might recognise me on the same page as the hottie Constantine Maroulis! Can't wait to meet all the American Idols on Sunday! Click Wild 104 Summer Jam to see the how it's going down on Sunday at the Spiedie Fest/Balloon Rally Expo! Alrighty...I must get to work!

Crazy Week!!!!

This week is definitely a crazy one. Between two tv interviews, a radio interview, working in the studio, and a show to prepare for on Sunday lets just say there isn't a whole lot of time to waste. I'm having a great time doing all of this though and I'm only looking forward to more down the road. My tv interview with Fox 40 was supposed to be last night in the studio, but it was postponed until tonight. So instead we laid down scratch vocals and guitars for a few of my new songs, and then after that I worked on piano stuff.  The cool thing about being in music is you can never stop learning new things and developing your craft. There is endless possibilites and endless amount of songs you can write..so why ever stop. Today I'm gonna sing my butt of and work on my show before I have to go in tonight. Probably gonna avoid the outdoors again since it only feels like 110 degrees when you walk out the door! haha Everyone keep cool! xoxo

I use music to motivate me, to feel good about things, to relax by, to help deal with frustration, to help battle demons, to feel love and ya know...it just makes my thought processes better. I am never alone if I have music. Music makes me feel so alive and yet it keeps me grounded at the same time! I'm a huge fan of all genre's of music too. Music can take me to a moment in time quicker then anything. It's all about those sensory perceptions! Don't just listen to music....celebrate it and look forward to feeling some of the best music yet to come! For me, the feelings I have inside I can express through my own music which is a gift that keeps on giving. And I know that without my producer I'd still be dreaming of a music career instead of having one. Yet he is more than just a producer...he is my mentor. He definitely uses music wisely! And right now he would be telling me to practice, practice, practice!
