Getting Better All The Time
Big opportunities are fluttering around me like an elusive butterfly and I'm just waiting for one to lite on me! I hope by the weekend I have something to celebrate other then not being sick!!! haha What will be, will be and I need to get myself back in the zone (where I belong) after this flu has loosened its grip. I couldn't make my voice lesson yesterday either and I hate that! I would have gone too cuz I'm that stubborn but its not right to risk spreading germs! My dad traded our car in for almost exactly the same thing (at my request) hehe (thanks dad) cuz I loved our car! It's like losing a trusted friend cuz I learned how to drive on it and I drove it more than anyone so I became a lil attached! The new car will be cool tho cuz it has a 6 cd changer!! Soooo, have denamusic will travel!!!!!!!!! Woo Hooo!!!! Well my sweets...I need to perk myself up and work, work, work!!! xoxo

Walk In
So I finally broke down yesterday after being at an all time low this week and went to the walk in. It was a long wait, but worth going. I ended up having an upper respiratory infection, which isn't surprising since I know exactly where I got it from! haha Yes, you know who you are! So I'm taking antibiotics now and I'm on the way to getting better. I actually feel good today compared to yesterday so that's some improvement. I had to get up super early this morning for another doctors appointment, but for female stuff only! It felt good goin' outside and breathing the fresh air for a few minutes when I've been stuck inside for days. Alrighty so I'll be here resting, healing, and dreaming and I promise I will have exciting news to share with you very soon! Have a good one!

Is There A Doctor In The House?
Today I am a sad song with nothing to say. I've got the influenza blues. Now I wish I had gotten the flu shot and maybe this would have missed me or at least not of hit me up so hard! Fortunately my agenda is light but I do have some very important things that cannot be put off another day! So I really need to suck it up! Is there a Doctor in the House?!! (sigh) guess not. Sick III
Do you wanna play a game?! I do! I am sick of being sick! and I wish I had something of interest to talk about! sorry guys..(really) Being cooped up in the house is not a whole lot of fun. Maybe a day or two inside is ok, but then I start to get really antsy. I know I'm supposed to be resting, but it's really hard. When I sing I just start coughing and that really bums me out more than ever. I'm siping on hot green tea at the moment and watching music videos. Gotta keep positive so I can nip this flu cold or whatever it is in the bud and get back to work! Awaiting my record to be finished, rehearsing, and seein some people I have been missing lately! Sick II
...and so the flu continues!! It's pretty much knocked me off my feet and there is just no strength to do anything. If there was a good time to get sick then I'd say I timed it perfectly! No pressures on me at this time. In fact, I can allow myself the luxury of daydreaming and visualizing my dreams! and with a fever you can have some pretty strange out of body experiences that seem real! haha I'd like to get out and play but not today. I have yet to cave and go see a doctor cuz I'm pretty sure the diagnois would be get plenty or rest and drink lots of liquids which I'm doing! I'm picking my feeling pretty good moments to practice piano but that's about all I can endure! haha Hope your weekend is fabulous wherever you are!!! Stay healthy!! xoxo

Sick :-(
I spent a sleepless night tossing and turning, experiencing chills and sweats, I ache all over and feel weak! so I'm pretty sure I have the flu! Forgive me if you are offended by this word but...it totally SUCKS! grrrr! At least I don't have to be out and about so I'll mostly be a couch potato with some check in's at the computer when I can keep my head upright! haha I hope everyone stays well cuz I don't wish how I feel right now on anyone! Tradition
Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and Lent has begun! A season for soul-searching, repentance, and reflection! This year I gave up sweets! I had already begun cutting back on sweets only now when that cookie or piece of cake is calling my name I will have more will power! haha The world is filled with difficult challenges and so a small personal sarcrifice is very positive and meaningful to me! I know not everyone practices this tradition, but it's one I like to follow each year. And my faith is important to me! well my lovelies.....I need to get back on the music horse! Switch
Today has to be all about my music! I pretty much had my day off yesterday so today will be a work day instead! I'm cool with that! I'm not spending as much time in the studio now and I'm feeling a huge gap. Meet & Greet!!!
Today I had a planned meet and greet event for family members I've never met before! They specifically drove in to spend some time getting to know me and to ask first hand questions about my career, etc! Georgia was represented nicely today and I have to say it was awesome to meet them! My thanks go out to Sandi for buying lunch and I promise to return the favor someday!!! I have a voice lesson later and I always look forward to that! Once my vocal chords are all warmed up I will just keep on singing my own stuff tonite since I pretty much had the day off! This was a special day in many days and I just have to say....May God Smile On You Today...like he has me! xoxo

Here Comes The Sun
The sun is shining and it's a bit warmer here in eNY than it has been. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but I feel like Spring is just around the corner. Plus I've got this great feeling inside that good things are coming!!! I'm kind of in a waiting mode right now, waiting for the record to be mastered and packaged, waiting for gigs! Yet I know I have to stay on top of my game because things could change in an instant. Truth is, a lot of things are going on for me behind the scenes! haha That's just how the biz is! A Time For Everything
When you see celebrities in the media like Britney Spears going to the exteme and now the latest crap where she randomly shaved her head...Lindsay Lohan ending up in rehab for too much partying, Nicole Richie's DWI and Anna Nicole Smith's crash and burn lifestyle, you wonder how they got there. Has the media drove them to insanity or have they brought it on themselves? Maybe a little of both?! What I do know is with all these examples I am learning a whole lot about what not to do. Sometimes I feel blessed that I wasn't thrown into the music business at a younger age like I so hoped for. I got to live my childhood normally and looking back that may have been the best thing. Plus my focus is not fame but a career in music that will stand the test of time!! There is a time for everything and everything in it's time! xoxo

Smile! ;-) I'm on News Channel 34!!!
I had so much fun doing News Channel 34 from the mall last night!!!! What a great crew of people too! I love the camera and I'm very relaxed in front of it! I closed the news show out and then went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays with my manager, executive producer and guitar player! Great meal! I worked later of course too! I'm excited over the fact that I'll be playing piano soon when I have acoustic shows in the future so I'm keeping on top of practicing the heck out of that! Life is good! But I know it can get even better! Thanks to the support of my fans, I appreciate the respect! A Step Closer
I woke up and found I had a pop up notice that my computer had a virus, which instantly scared me!! (turned out to be a pop up notice to get me to buy virus protection but they make it sound like it's already infected! grrrr) And our water coming through the pipes is all brown and nasty so we can't shower or cook so that's not cool! Good thing we have tons of bottled water in the house! I have my thing later to do for News Channel 34 at the mall and you should expect to see me on tv around 6:25pm! At least that's when I'm seeing the past musical guests every night! Be sure to tune in or better yet...come to the mall and say hi!!! Should be cool and then later I'll be working! I'm gonna listen to my record with my parents from start to finish and get their reaction! I've been getting first looks at my cd booklet design and it's lookin' kiLLer too!!! In The House
We didn't get to have a white Christmas but we sure did get a white Valentine's Day! Tuesday night it started snowing and it kept on coming and coming, which nearly put everything and everyone in lock down! (something like 17" so far) I'm not really a winter person despite growing up in the northeast and even if I was, it's just bitter cold and it bites! I did my usual routine and worked on my music so I didn't have a day off either just because schools were closed! My younger brother had to deal with my piano playing in the morning time when he thought he was gonna sleep in! haha The snow plows were out banging around the neighborhood while I was all cozy in my pj's doing my thang all day long! Today I'll be preparing for my brief television performance on Friday but it's just par for the course cuz I'm always in a state of prep! Sooo, no more delays here...time to get in the zone and kill it! xoxo

Fantasy
Anticipation of a snowstorm is the talk of the day today! I don't even see a flake in the air as of yet. I guess I don't mind too much cept it causes cancellations...hense another delay in putting the finishing touches on my record! The picture perfect fantasy would be cuddling by the fireplace with my true love while the snow falls softly outside my window! Being stuck together overnight and starting Valentines Day with nothing to eat but the cookies and candy I made with love the past couple days! hahahahaha but the key word here is "fantasy'! The reality is I don't have a fireplace! mwahahahha ok I'm in a silly mood apparently and I need to put that in check and get busy! Hope your day is fabulous!!! xoxo

Piano
I was eager to get out of bed this morning, which is sort of unusual unless I have some place special I'm going. I'm not a morning person at all and I didn't go to bed early either, but I feel like I have so much on my mind and things that I need to do. So I've been practicing, reading my lyrics and singing my songs this morning. I'll be hitting up the piano to work on the songs I may do on Friday at the mall for Newschannel 34. I started less than a year ago learning the keyboard so I could write my own music and accompany myself and the time has come to actually do it in public! In the meantime, I may not eat all week from nerves! haha Nah it will be a good experience though for me, just gotta practice till my fingers fall off! Ok gotta work it! Peace xoxo

I Feel Like Dancing
I woke up to my favorite song and I feel like dancing!!! All of my happiness Spilling Over!!! hehe Seriously...I woke up with a mix of feelings from excitement, nerves, wonder, hope, and a sense of peace...just to name a few! I have always set goals but I try not to live in the future too much even tho I visualize myself in the future! There's always a chance things could end up completely different than you thought so I keep it real in the here and now! I just keeping following my gut cuz it's always right on! Thinking about spending a relaxing afternoon maybe baking cookies! The Grammy's are on tonight too which of course I will be watching and dreaming of being there myself someday. well enough of this....I hope you have a restful yet fabulous day!

No Rush
We haven't rushed anything we have done so far so why start now?! We worked on the seque's a long time last night and still did not finish to our satisfaction. but perfection takes time baby! haha Not once has my producer ever said, oh thats good enough! It's done when he says...IT'S KILLER!!!! Patience with a capital P....emphasizing on staying calm, having self-control, and the willingness or ability to tolerate delay! Anything worthwhile takes time and some days you will make a little more progress, and on other days a little less. but the end result will be KILLER!!!! The Last Mix
It's in the can!!! Yay!!! Next....it's putting them in order and adding the seques. Then we listen to them a zillion times to double and triple check for cliches and hopefully there won't be any remixes and then they can go to mastering! It takes time like taking baby steps but very important!!! I realized I'm all out of green tea so I'm about to go grocery shopping! Then it's back to business as usual!!! Friendship
Last night my friend Ashley and I took time out of our busy schedules to finally hang out! She stayed overnight and we talked and watched movies till 4 AM! We totally pigged out on candy and I'm feelin' a lil guilty, but so what! Our lives are so different now but at the core we are the same! It's a great feeling to have a continued friendship with someone you've known nearly all your life even when you are moving in different directions! No drama, no gossiping! (which we always tried to avoid anyways!) And the one thing we both agree that we miss the most.....dancing! When you go from dancing almost every night of the week to nothing it's a whole body changing experience! haha but let's not go there! Topic of the day....who do you trust? I know what the answer is for me! (very few) Sometimes I give way to much credit to people just because they are nice to me. But as I get further ahead in the game of life I suspect that everyone wants something from me and they will chip away and chip away till there is nothing left to give...IF I LET IT HAPPEN! There in lie's the rub. I can't let it happen. So you will have to earn your trust by proving you are trustworthy and until then you are suspiciously guilty! Treasures
What do you most treasure? I treasure the people in my life that would take a bullet for me without even thinking twice! They may not even know how much I treasure them but I do and I hold them close to my heart and I keep them at the top of my prayer list. Hopefully there would never be a need to test the bullet theory but you know what I mean. These treaured people should know I have their back as well! eh I'm getting all sentimental now! haha Sooo, on the music end of things...still mixing it up. A set back last night kept us from finishing up the last song but the fix is as simple as just paying close attention! (It wasn't me this time!) Current Conditions
well...it's freakin' freezing here in upstate NY cuz of some arctic blast of cold air! It's like -1F with a wind chill factor of -22F. I really wish I owned some long underwear right now! haha The sunshine though encouraged me to get out from underneath the blankets but wherever I park myself is my personal electric heater! haha True to what I said yesterday, I only watched the Super Bowl half time show and Prince brought it baby!!!! Singing Purple Rain, in the pouring rain, was KiLLer!!! Today I'm feeling bright and optimistic! Career connections are on my mind right now, (hurry up and wait) but I'm keeping focused on the small stuff -- so that means staying in the zone!! Good Stuff Baby
If you could see me right now you would see me smiling!!! oh wait! you can...just look at my picture to the left! ;-) haha It's like that kind of thing where I'm bursting to tell a sweet secret but can't! Yes it's music related and when the time is right I can share! We are down to the wire with finishing up the mixes now and it's a happy and sad thing! I love being in the studio and there is no doubt in my mind that one day I will have my own! Phil did not see his shadow on Friday, which, according to German folklore, means folks can expect an early spring instead of six more weeks of winter. haha ok then, I hope he's right on but we'll see! Happy February!
I just realized when I looked at the date on my computer that it was Feb. 1st. One month down in the year already! Unbelieveable. Last night I went out for the first time in months. I met up with my friend Ashley at her work and we decided to grab a bite to eat. Ok, so we decided to skip the healthy stuff and go straight for dessert, but it was soo worth it! We split an Oreo Chocolate Cake...mmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! haha So after that we went to see the new movie Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner. Totally a chick flick, which we both enjoyed of course! Not to mention plently of eye candy! *wink* I'm not sure what's in the cards for me tonight but I know I will be workin on my music for sure during the day. With some extra exercizes thrown in to rid those calories from last night's quilty pleasure! Oh yes and I plan on saying a prayer that the groundhog doesn't see his shadow tomorrow morning!
