Loops
Last night I went into the studio to get the loops I need to practice with for my show. My favorite loops and segues off the record that I think will add a lot to the live sound. Like I said, this is going to be the biggest and best show I've done so far!! Today is definitely going to be a day of rehearsal. Practicing here at home, then a voice lesson and then band practice tonight. So I should feel really accomplished by the end of the night! haha Actually, I always feel I have room for improvement, no matter what. But I guess that's the key to always getting better! Monday Monday
I hope your Sunday was all you wanted it to be! It was a family day for me from start to finish! Now as I start my week off with the rest of the world, it's a typical Monday and I'm back to work! I am helping a lil bit with the promotional side of things for my CD Release Party and giving my opinion on the creative but basically my job is to sing! So that's what you will find me doing! Butterflies
Slowly but surely things are coming together. I went into the studio last night to work on the set list for the show with my producer and my guitar player. We have to make sure everything flows right and that everything is timed right. We came up with a medley of three of my songs, and I must say it's gonna be badass!! The cool thing is that I have so many songs to pick from that I won't even be able to fit them all in a 2-hour period. So we really have to be careful in picking and choosing the songs. The more we work on the show and planning the show, the more butterflies I get in my stomach!! They are the good kind of excited butterflies though!! hehe Today I will be going with my family up to my great Aunts house for some homemade sauce....pasta the Italian way!! It's also my grandpa's 81st birthday so we are surprising him with a cake! Hope your day is GRRRRRRRRREAT!! xoxo

Party Planning
Last night's meeting was excellent! It was mostly about getting everyone on the same page so we can move forward with planning this project!! There is so much to do it almost feels like we are planning a wedding..hahaha...or maybe a prom! I don't know...I've done anything like this before so don't mind me! haha Anyway, today and tonight is going to be dedicated to that as well. I'll be heading into the studio tonight to start working on the most important part of the party…the music!!! That's the area I have to focus on with my producer and my band members to make sure we have the best show possible! It's not gonna be just running songs like I have in the past. This is going to be a concert with an introduction, segues, loops, an encore and all sorts of cool surprises. Not to mention fitting in my costume changes!! That’s why you don't wanna miss it!! Yesterday was one of those days that flew by! Today is already starting to feel that way! Getting out of bed at 10 AM is partly to blame! haha I have administrative stuff to work on with a luncheon is planned with some business people in my camp to discuss my CD Release Party!! Nothing But The Best
Last night was pretty sweet at band rehearsal! My new drummer is kickass and he pulls us all together so tight! My new bass player is really good and the whole vibe with my band now should be the best to date! Always room for improvement and it just keeps getting better and better! I started out my day with an interview for a part-time job so I can pick up some mad money for something extra sweet! Clearly it has to be at a time that will not interfere with my music career and quite possibly this should work out perfectly! I just need a few $$ for my indulgences! haha Just a bottle of my fave cologne costs $50 so ya know how that is! Well...it's a beautiful day and I hope you discover the riches you deserve! The Dreaded Three
The Fab 4 had an outing this morning and it included stopping for breakfast!! I did NOT however, have pancakes. In fact for the first time ever I had an omelet. Broccoli and cheese!!! Trust me it's a very big deal when I say no to the three P's..... (Pancakes, Pizza, Pasta) but I gotta do it sometimes! haha Dang carbs!!! I want to look my best for the camera when I get the word they need more footage for revamping my video! yeah the one that's been on hold and no one has seen yet! haha Tonight I have band rehearsal for the first time with the 2 new members. I heard they are killer, so I'm looking forward to hearing them! I'm so in the mood to rock it too!!!! Shine On
Yesterday was quite possibly the gloomiest day we've had in a long time! It was so dark and dreary and all I really felt like doing was cuddling up with the cat and watching television. I did work on my music and then much later I watched the democratic debate! It was quite interesting the way it was set up with everyday people asking the questions from You Tube. It's the first time I will be able to vote so I'm really making an effort to pay attention more than I did when I was younger. Today the sun is shining and I'd like my mood to match! haha Voice lesson will help me get in the happy zone too!!! Hey everyone.......let's all get our shine on!!! xoxo

Excellence
A light sunburn from watching a ballgame in the scorching sun at high noon and an empty stomach gave me a sickish feeling. Once I get like that I just want to curl up and sleep! Instead I fought it, got food and went to the movies with my mom, best bud G and my newest friend M that is heading up my "streetteam" on myspace! Be sweet and join it........... please!!! Streetteam people ROCK!!! So yeah one word........HAIRSPRAY! What a fun, upbeat, positive feeling movie and definitely a keeper! Good times with good friends all weekend long put me in great place for a week ahead of hard work! Not all my ducks are in a row today but I'm working on it! haha I'm singing and pushing myself to achieve that excellence!! Not everyone fully appreciates my drive but those people who do and have a passion for excellence too, are my kind of people! Keep it real and take care! xoxo

Friendships
One of the best feelings in the world for me is to have at least one girlfriend I can call my best friend! That doesn't mean you have to be with them 24/7 or know every single thing about them but it's more about the love and support and being there for them in good AND bad times! It should feel like family and with Ashley it does! Thanks to her parents and guests at the party for making me feel welcome as an artist as well! I sang several of my songs and got some great feedback! I gained some new fans and some new friendships! Basically it was an all-nighter, singing and dancing till dawn kind of party and I'm running on about 3 hours of sleep right now! haha I plan to lay low today and be chill. A Grand Time
I am gonna get my party on tonight and celebrate my best friend's 21st birthday with her! She has asked me to sing at her party and she truly proves to me over and over with her genuine support and love that she is a true friend! So Happy Birthday to you Ashley!!! You will be surrounded by many of your favorite people and I'm glad I'm one of them! Her mom is a piano teacher and they have a baby grand piano that I just love getting close to! YaY! New Wave
I just watched a segment this morning that my dad recorded earlier on CNBC Business Nation, "Face The Music", about the record industry going through some major changes and how the compact disc is going the way of the 8 track! How the distribution of music is being done without a corporate middleman! And bands doing things outside of dependence on a major label! I personally love having a CD of my favorite artist in my hands to look at and touch! I too have an iPOD but I have a library of actual CD's that I pull out to look at the pictures and read the lyrics and credits!! Since technology dictates just about everything we do these days, it's really about instant gratification. I may be an old soul but I feel some of the best things in life simply take time. But I must go with the flow or I will be considered a dinosaur tomorrow! That's why my songs will eventually be on Orchard/iTunes soon! But I highly recommend purchasing my packaged CD also cuz it just freakin' ROCKS!!!!!!! COMING SOON!!!!!!! It's happening so fast! Today I will be mixing it up with work and running some errands! Kitty and Me
It's raining today! That light kind of rain that will probably stop and start but last all day. I'm hanging tight and not going anywhere so it does not affect my plans! My houseguest that is temporarily living with me follows me from room to room as I move & sing! He stares and meows at me so I'm pretty sure he is trying to sing along! He sleeps with me too and loves to cuddle! It gets a lil weird for me when he follows me to the bathroom though! haha I hope you have a sunshine day in your heart even if it's raining outside! Thankful
Last night I had a VIP Meeting/dinner! First of all, let me say, it went awesome and I'm so happy today thinking about it! Thanks Reid!!! Thanks Jeff!!! Thanks Mom!!! and Thanks Dad!!! While my fans are expecting this grand explosion to show proof that I've become a part of the greater whole in the music industry, the truth is it's all about baby steps and timing! For me it's business as usual and I know I haven't been able to really let anyone in on the grand scheme of things that are going on with me but there is so much that needs to be put in place first! Golden Ticket
Common ground can bring people together but isn't it the greatest feeling to be aligned with people who "get" you and you "get"?!? You have that mutual respect thing happening which is more than just having stuff in common! One of the people I respect very much is my voice teacher and today I have a voice lesson! Much later I have a very important dinner meeting with people I highly respect! So I'll be preparing all day, trying to pull myself together in a perfect way for that! haha Keeping it real for sure! Pleasantville
Today is another awesome day with the sun shining! I have to mention it because where I live it's generally overcast a large percentage of the time! A family get-to-together/picnic yesterday was so relaxing! Blending in with loved ones...outdoors, under a tent with tons of food, drinks, homemade cookies, flowing chocolate with strawberries to dip and babies giggling...it was right out of Pleasantville! Today I'm on a musical cruise and I've been singing up a storm! Piano plans for later on and preparing for the next big thing to come! Hope your day is very cool!!!!!!! xoxo

Completely & positively positive describes me today! I feel a spark or something must be in the air! I'm just so happy! Red Bull isn't the only thing that gives me wings! haha And just like my logo....my heart has wings for real! Last night I got to go to my home away from home for a little while! The Future
Truthfully I'd like to know what the future holds! Doesn't everybody? haha But there is no crystal ball and I don't think it's important to know exactly! So with my faith in tact.... I’m trusting, believing and working hard. I have a great team of supporters in place for sure! Right now I wish so much that I was starting my next album and "MIRROR" isn't even out yet for sale! haha I am about to burst with what I have inside me!!! The rewards and satisfaction I feel are priceless when it comes to laying down my music! I'm gonna get my shine on today and do what I know is right for me! GOOD LUCK
Friday the 13th! mwahahahaha I must keep my eyes open and watch my step! I don't need any bad luck for sure! Plan To Be Happy
Just as I planned it...my girl Ashley and I hung out last night and it was fun! We went to a purse party and she found a purse she loved right off the bat! I held onto my pennies but only because I knew I needed some necessities and there just wasn't enough extra pennies in my pocket to splurge! We made a quick stop to spy on my band rehearsing with my new drummer before stopping at the good ole' mall! They sounded great and that made me really happy! Today I have a hair appt. for highlight touch-ups and I'm excited! Something I have put off far too long and I have the 4" roots to prove it! haha Well everyone have a happy, happy day! I Heart Today
Today my horoscope is all about karma. I am a firm believer in karma and that what you give is what you get. Seems like every time I do something, good or bad, it comes right back to me. I think that happens to everybody, it's just that not everyone realizes it. I have lots to do and since it is my official day off I plan to grab a friend and get out of the house! The Heat Is On
I am currently sittin' here with my roommate in my arms. Yes he is loveable, beautiful and extremely hairy!! haha ok, ok, so it's my aunt's persian cat, and even though it's too dang hot to have his fur coat against me, I can't help but love him! Weird how I feel such love for this cat when I've never been around animals my whole life and basically feared them! We are having a heat wave and last night the sweat was just dripping off me just sitting still and it looks like today is going to be pretty much the same way. Have to stay hydrated for sure! So as crazy as I am, I'm gonna grab some water and do a low-key work out, sing some, and piano some until my voice lesson later! Also, today my "stars" say calm, cool, and collected!! Keeping work, play, friends, mind/body health all in balance! Sounds like a fabulous way to be!! Be cool everyone! xoxo

A Thousand Miles
My weekend so far has been pretty nice! Great weather too! Not much going on so I've been able to chill a lot. Still stuff is always being planned out in my head and goals written down! yeah, I set mini-goals for myself because they are easily accomplished and they ultimately get me to the BIG goal! I like to break the tougher goals down to one day at a time kind of thinking and sometimes I even break that down to a smaller size yet so that I can see I've achieved something I set out to do in the next few hours! This way I don't get overwhelmed or give up. It's a good habit I think for me and it keeps me moving forward and right where I wanna be!! Remember that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Deep in my mind it's a busy place! haha Have a great day!!! xoxo

Get Up and Go
I'm always looking at the bigger picture in life and definitely keeping my eye on the prize! Especially when I have nothing pressing...it's so easy to slip into contentment. Rain and Relatives
The local festivities were rained out last night so I opted to go to a private get-to-together/cookout with friends! It was really great to see people I've missed seeing for so long and meeting new peeps besides! Early on in the day though I went to my brother's baseball game and I got to do the announcing! I just love doing that for sure! Plus when the rain started I was nice and cosy in the press box! haha I've had a full morning with relatives visiting from out of town! Sing Sing Sing
It's so beautiful out today and I'm feeling really upbeat. I've been singing and dancing around all morning, practicing my songs. I kinda just feel like singing all day. Later I have a voice lesson too! The past couple of days I've been thinking a lot, and I feel like my confidence level has gone up a few notches. Sometimes after I have a successful gig, that happens, but I think this time it's more than that. I just started realizing some things about myself....about how others treat me, and how I give the benefit of the doubt and I take things so lightly. I figured it's time to clean out of my closet (as Eminem would say) and get rid of all the negative things and negative people that surround me. One thing I know for sure, is no one can bring me down today!! Have a good one everybody! xoxo
Always Love and Music, ~Dena~ It's Monday and I'm back to all music business! I had such a strong performance on Saturday night and it's because of the madd schedule of rehearsing I put in! I'd like to keep that momentum! Of course my Sunday was pretty chill and I kicked it back and watched some TV, napped, went out to dinner and then invited my friend over to watch a horror movie! "yes....there will be blood!" mwahahahahah My plan of attack for keeping myself polished and ready to go at a moments notice is....repetition!!! I'm doing just that already today and after this lil break to write here I'm back into the zone!!! It had been a hot, sunny day all day up until 9 PM when the rains came! It had really cooled down by the time I was ready to perform and I was freezin'!! So, since it's not easy to sing with chattering teeth, haha, I decided to wear my long sweater over my dress until I warmed up. After my adrenaline got pumpin' though, I was ready to go! I was really happy how things turned out. All 3 sets were killer and the crowd was awesome! I was definitely nervous about playing piano for the first time in front of people but I don't think anyone could tell! I loved it and each time it will get easier!!! Well, I'll be resting today and then it's back on the horse tomorrow! hehe Happy July 1st everyone! xoxo
